There is a ton of data on the 70 cards that make up the 2024 release of our Charlotte Brewery Trading Cards series. The details presented are the result of years of visits and research, but we don’t always get things right, and the Charlotte brewery scene is constantly in flux. If you observe an error, please report it. We will update the website right away and will update the physical cards upon the next printing or release. Current known issues that have been identified stem largely from the closure of three locations follow:
- #7. Birdsong Brewing. This card shows its venue was established in 2011, but they actually moved to this location in 2016. Additionally, due to the closing of nearby Catawba (below), the nearest brewery to their location is now Fonta Flora (Charlotte).
- #9. Town Brewing Company. Due to the closure of Midnight Mulligan, the closest brewery is now Legion Brewing (West Morehead).
- #11. Catawba (Charlotte) (Closed). This venue was closed in August of 2023. They are reportedly seeking a new location.
- #16. Blue Blaze Brewing Company. Due to the closure of Midnight Mulligan, the closest brewery is now Town Brewing Company.
- #20. Midnight Mulligan. This venue closed suddenly at the start of 2024.
- #29. Heist Brewery. Due to the closure of Protagonist in NoDa, the closest brewery is now Salud Cerveceria.
- #30. Protagonist (Closed). This venue appears to have quietly closed in late 2023.
- #32. Wooden Robot (The Chamber). Due to the closure of Protagonist in NoDa, the closest brewery is now Salud Cerveceria.
- #39. Protagonist (LoSo). There is an extra QR code at the center of this card, which is there in error; it is too small to scan but is duplicative of the nearest brewery, Sugar Creek.
- #40. Sugar Creek. This card shows its venue was established in January 2018, but it actually opened in 2014.
- #58. Lake Wylie Brewing Co. (Closed). This venue was closed toward the end of 2023. They now have a venue in Rock Hill (but such is outside the range of the 70 breweries covered in this series.)
- #60. Model A Brewing. Due to the closure of Lake Wylie mentioned above, the closest other brewery to Model A is now Replay Brewing.
