Pinhouse

Located in Plaza Midwood just down the road from Resident Culture, this self-pour facility features 50 taps upstairs (main level) and 22 more downstairs with lots of seating both inside and out. There are also wine and sangria options included on tap.

There are 3 televisions on the main level. Beers are also all listed on Untappd by style. They’ve been here about a year and a half now. I got a lot of head on a couple pours but when observed by an attendant (there was someone working each level when I visited on a quiet Sunday afternoon) they credited me for the pour and tried to offer advice. 

Four mini duck pin bowling lanes (free on Sundays) and a pinball machine downstairs with more seating and 2 televisions. Outside there are a couple more televisions, tables, couches and a couple of cornhole games set up. There are also outdoor heaters for when the temperatures dip.

Because they take your credit card when you check-in and give you a bracelet, you can check out quickly by dropping your bracelet off (there are containers that allow you to specify your desired tip of 15% or 20%).

Update: I’ve been a couple times now and am getting lots of head on too many taps I have tried. A helpful employee suggested letting it run for a few seconds before placing the glass under at an angle— which is good advice when you’re not paying by the ounce. To avoid waste, grab a large glass (even if you just want tasters and a smaller glass feels appropriate), and then fill that glass with foam and wait for it to convert. Not ideal, but effective. They really need to work to minimize this problem in a self pour establishment.
