Sycamore’s new venue is large and draws crowds. It includes a coffee shop, a kitchen and multiple refrigerated coolers of cans to go. Towards the back there is a large bar seats all around featuring two full sets of taps and signage (though even very crowded one side was pouring). Extensive outdoor seating options available.
Sycamore Brewing was founded by husband and wife team Sarah and Justin Brigham in 2013 and has grown rapidly, becoming the largest Charlotte-born brewery and a top-three craft brewery in North Carolina. They are on track to be the largest independent brewery in the Carolinas by 2023.
Initially, Sycamore Brewing focused on selling the majority of its beer (over 80%) through its taproom. Over time, they expanded their distribution network and now partner with 24 distributor partners, offering their beer to major retailers across seven states.
In May of 2023, Sycamore Brewing moved to a larger place next door, featuring a two-story building with a 6,000-square-foot second-floor patio and bar. This space includes a ground-level beer garden, a full-service taproom with food offerings, and a new coffee shop.
In addition to its significant presence in Charlotte, Sycamore Brewing opened a bar concept at Charlotte Douglas International Airport in November 2022, further expanding its reach. Besides beer, Sycamore Brewing offers a variety of beverages, including frozen drinks, cider, wine, coffee-inspired cocktails, boozy popsicles, and beer floats with soft serve.
