Fonta Flora

Technically, it is not an Asheville or Charlotte brewery, but if you’re traveling between Asheville and Charlotte, this is a great place to stop, as it is just a few minutes off I-40.

Located an hour or so east of Asheville in Morganton, NC this little brewery is making big noise. Though small there 16 taps, 8 of which were Fonta Flora taps and 8 guest taps. The front room has 30 seats and an area for brewing. The back room has an additional 25 seats, the majority of which are around a large communal table, a shuffleboard table, and more brewing equipment. Aging barrels are found in various locations throughout. A small patio, which is dog friendly, seats another 18 comfortably. The patio is covered but you’ll get wet in a storm. All seats indoors are barstools and all outdoor seating are typical chairs with backs.

Fonta Flora is best known for its sours but they offer a variety of styles if sour’s aren’t you thing. They offer a great selection of glassware as well as shirts, hats, patches, and pins. Snacks are available but selection is a bit limited. They fill growlers and have a changing selection of bottles available for purchase.
